Alongside its online store, Shop ICT Gadgets needed a point-of-sale system for its in-store operations: a custom tool built around the way the business actually records and manages sales, rather than a generic package it would need to adapt to. Simplicity and reliability were vital.
The Design
The goal: an interface that remains responsive and clear during day-to-day retail use, so recording every transaction fits seamlessly into established business workflows, avoiding unnecessary steps and complications.
Built for the store, not the other way round.
The development
I engineered the POS as a purpose-built web application tailored towards the retailer’s requirements. Being confidential, its architecture, database design and user-interfaces are intentionally withheld from this portfolio.
The Takeaway
The project demonstrates my ability to go beyond websites and build custom web applications that support genuine, day-to-day commercial operations for an expanding electronics retailer with both online and in-store transactions.
